Why change management?
Every change in systems and organisations always means regularly encountering resistance from the people affected. Resistance to the new, to what is not yet clear, what is not understood and what takes those affected out of their comfort zone.
Many management approaches (Lewin’s three-phase model, Kotter’s eight phases, Krüger’s five stages and the model of the complexity of dynamic systems) describe a logically comprehensible process for change in addition to the emotional reactions (shock, rejection, insight, acceptance, learning, realisation, integration) in order to make the change manageable.
These approaches are promises of good solutions and orientation points in the course of the change process.
In our experience, despite these approaches, people are left out too much and do not receive the necessary attention to face up to the changes.
After all, all change affects people and everyone has an individual, internal approach to dealing with change.
It is therefore important to recognise that change must be shaped from within and that measures designed for a system that is controlled from the outside are more likely to fail.
Therefore, in addition to the existing change management approaches, we offer firewalks for affected organisational units and their employees.
Fire is one of the four central elements, which originates primarily from Asian philosophies. The element of fire stands for momentum, drive, courage and growth as well as for the transformational process of tackling and realising new things.
The motto „Light the fire within you“ is a good metaphor for change from the inside out. Only when my flame is burning for something am I ready to set out on the path to allow the new to happen, to make it tangible for myself.
It’s a motto that helps to set change in motion (motivation).
In conjunction with the familiar management systems in the change process, a firewalk strengthens, deepens and develops the courage to go through the change. Participants are proud that they have mastered this challenge and can deal more favourably with the upcoming changes.
